Your Neptune printer displays the following error message: "Option serial in section mcu must be specified.. Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the RESTART . command to reload the config and restart the host.. Printer is halted."
Why it happened
The motherboard firmware is missing a configuration file needed to start normally.
How to fix it
You'll need to download a firmware file from Elegoo, copy it to a USB stick, and then update the printer.

Select Neptune 3D Printer, and then your specific printer model from the dropdowns

Download the most recent firmware file to your PC
- Extract the folder contents to your PC
- Navigate to Firmware pack - (your printer name - firmware version)

Copy the ELEGOO_UPDATE_DIR folder
- Paste it to the root of the USB stick, unplug it from the PC & plug it into the printer
- Turn the printer on and wait for the error message

On the error screen, press the white exit arrow on the top-right

Press the blue Upload arrow on the bottom
- Confirm the upload - a progress bar should appear
- Once the reboot notification appears, wait till the printer finishes starting
- You will need to level the bed and set the Z-Offset from the Level menu
